I began my teaching career at Kettle Moraine High School in 1990. My particular emphasis of instruction is Drawing, Animation and Illustration. The Animation curriculum stresses the mastery of traditional hand-drawn animation, with an emphasis on character, plot and setting. Previously I developed and taught an animation curriculum for the Gifted and Talented program in Plymouth, Minnesota. It was at this time I became a mentor for Pete Docter who is now an Academy Award-winning director at Pixar Studio.

Prior to entering the field of teaching, I spent twelve years as a character animator. Productions I worked on include Steven Speilberg’s “Tiny Toon Adventures”, Christmas specials including “Santa Bear’s High Flying Adventure”, television commercials, and industrial films for Hallmark Cards, Pillsbury Corporation and many more.
