Two-dimensional Shapes

Area of Triangles (Web-Based)
Explore how the area of a triangle relates to the area of a parallelogram. - Illuminations

Calculation Nation (Web-Based)
Calculation Nation® uses the power of the Web to let students challenge opponents from anywhere in the world. At the same time, students are able to challenge themselves by investigating significant mathematical content and practicing fundamental skills. The element of competition adds an extra layer of excitement. - Illuminations

Figure This! Math Challenges for Families (Web-Based)
Create equivalent fractions by dividing and shading squares or circles, and match each fraction to its location on the number line. - NCTM

IXL Texas Math (Web-Based
Practice that feels like play. (Note: there is a limit of 10 questions that can be answered in a day in free version)- IXL

Pattern Shapes (Web-Based/iPad/Chromebook)
Explore geometry and fractions, creating their own designs, or filling in outlines. As they work with the shapes students think about angles, investigate symmetry, and compose and decompose larger shapes. - Math Learning Center

Polygon Transformer (Chromebook)
Polygon Transformer empowers students to explore geometric transformations with shapes that they design. Students input vertices as ordered pairs into a list, which are then plotted on a coordinate plane and connected with straight lines. The resultant polygons can then be transformed in any direction, reflected across horizontal and vertical lines, rotated around the origin and dilated to any scale. Vertices are labeled for each polygon, and the vertex values are optionally shown below the coordinate plane. The coordinate plane can be viewed at three different zoom levels to work well with all screen sizes, and each transformation can be reversed with a handy undo feature.- Eli Sheldon

Mr. Weis (Web-Based)
Set of You Tube videos explaining a variety of math concepts. - Aaron Weis

NRICH (Web-Based)
Embed rich mathematical tasks into everyday classroom practice. - University of Cambridge

Reflect and Rotate (Web-Based)
Reflect designs across the x and y axis and rotate designs around the origin. - Math Playground

Transformations (Web-Based)
Practice reflections, rotations, and translations on a coordinate grid. - Math Playground

Which One Doesn't Belong?, (Web-Based)
A website dedicated to providing thought-provoking puzzles for math teachers and students alike. There are no answers provided as there are many different, correct ways of choosing which one doesn't belong.
