Biography

Dr. Numpon is currently doing research and teaching at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University, Thailand. Dr. Numpon’s expertise is in the fields of design and manufacturing of advanced systems. The main focus of his work is on the innovative process development of high-value systems and products in the growing markets. Dr. Numpon applied the innovative design process into three key areas: materials, processes, and applications. For the materials aspect, Dr. Numpon’s works involve both traditional (metals and natural) materials and advanced materials (composites and biomaterials). With regards to innovative processes, Dr. Numpon's main areas are in both traditional (high temperatures and stresses) metalworking processes and advanced processes that are in severe conditions (extremely cold and hot temperatures under vacuum). Finally, the high-value applications utilizing the developed materials and processes are mainly for vehicles on the ground, and in the water, air, and space. Dr. Numpon believes in creativity, innovation, collaboration, leadership, and ethics.
