Kekaulike Football Youth Clinic Mahalos

Kekaulike Football hosted a two session youth football clinic this past weekend on the Upcountry campus. Attendees learned defensive skills and drills and competed in various competition sessions. Hosted by the Kekaulike football program, the clinic featured guest coaches from 3 And Out from Maui and Fastletics from Oahu. Both Fastletics and 3 And Out complete their Defensive skills camps this month and will start up again in the off season.  Mahalo all those who attended and also to the KKHS Cheer coaches for running the registration and sign in table. 

Congratulations Ryley Widell, Na Alii alumnus and Baseball standout drafted by Twins

Congratulations to Kekaulike alumnus Ryley Widell on being drafted in the 7th round to the Minnesota Twins. Prior to the draft, Widell was offered a scholarship to play at the University of North Carolina. Ryley is Kekaulike's first baseball player to be drafted. Congratulations and good luck!

Na Alii Baseball Alumnus Garners 1st Team Recognition and a National Championship

Kekaulike alumnus Gabe Gunter helped his California Lutheran University baseball team win their first NCAA Division III national championship in Appleton, Wisconsin.  In the winner take all game, Gunter hit a two-run double to break a scoreless tie in the bottom of the third inning and then was intentionally walked in the seventh clinching a 7-3 championship win for the Kingsmen.  For the season, Gunter batted .332 (69-for-208) with a team-high 43 RBIs and 20 doubles while playing all 51 games. He had 35 runs, two triples, 11 stolen bases, 19 walks and a .519 slugging percentage. Gabe was also named to the all-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference first team.

Kekaulike Track and Field Brings Home the Bling

Mia Daly won gold in the 300m hurdles, Jennea Nagura the bronze in the pole vault, Lyric Love the bronze in the long jump and Alexis Henderson doubled gold in both the shot put and discus. Micah Womack won silver in the 400m, Kanai O'Connor bronzed in the 1500m,  and Josh Romero silvered in the high jump. Kekaulike Girls tied for 3rd overall with 42 points, while our Boys team finished 6th. Congratulations to both of our Na Alii Track teams.

Volleyball To Host Opening Round of State Championship

Kekaulike will host Waipahu in the opening round of the HHSAA State Volleyball Championship Tournament at 6:00pm tomorrow, Monday May 1. The winner of tomorrow night's game will move on to the Quarterfinals on Oahu beginning on Thursday. HHSAA Admission prices will be in effect and concessions will be served.

Kekaulike Judoka Bring Home Gold & Silver

Congratulations to MIL Champion judoka:  Aiden Hanley (114), Colby Hanley, Jr. (121), Chris Sobaje (178), and Alyssa Fusato (129). Our silver medalist judoka were Sarah Fusato (109), Keireana Higaki (115), and Keopuolani Palakiko (139). All of these judoka will be representing Kekaulike at the HHSAA State Judo Championship at the Stan Sheriff Center on Saturday at 10:30am. Congratulations Na Alii

Volleyball Falls in Four

Our Na Alii Volleyball team fell in four sets tonight against Maui High in the semifinals round of MIL Tournament play.  Kekaulike, the regular season champion, must now wait to play off against the MIL tournament champion on Saturday at noon. The winner of Saturday's playoff game will claim the MIL crown and earn a bye in the upcoming HHSAA State tournament, to which Kekaulike has already earned a State berth.  The second berth representative from the MIL will host the first round of HHSAA State Tournament play at their home site on Monday, May 1st.

Boys Surfing Wins MIL Title, Tennis Duo Brings Home Gold

Congratulations to our Boys Surfing team for winning their second consecutive MIL Surf Title this past Saturday at Ho'okipa's. Sophiomore Alex Fahland brought home gold as the MIL Champion in body boarding. Congratulations also to our Girls Tennis Doubles team, Jaccie Hisashima and Emi Abe on being crowned MIL Champions this past weekend at Wailea Courts. 

Polo Season Ends, Volleyball Clinches State Berth

Our Na Alii Wahine Polo team ended their season last weekend falling in the semifinals round of the MIL Waterpolo Tournament at Kihei Aquatics. Kekaulike Boys Volleyball clinched a berth to States with their win over Kamehameha last Thursday night. Na Alii also earned the top seed for the MIL Volleyball Tournament which begins on Thursday. Kekaulike will face the winner of Tuesday night's game between the Sabers of Maui and the Baldwin Bears at 4:30pm. The tournament will be hosted by Lahainaluna and admission will be charged, no school issued MIL passes will be accepted.

Polo Advances to Semis, Softball Season Closes

Our Water Polo team won their first round game of the MIL Tourney against Maui High today at Kihei Aquatics. They will be moving on to the second round of play tomorrow. Our Na Alii Softball season came to an end today as they fell to the Lady Lunas of Lahainaluna 3-0 in the semi final round of MIL Tournament play.
