We are excited you are interested in taking a dual credit course!

Dual credit is an opportunity for high school students who meet admissions standards to enroll at our partner community college and simultaneously earn credits for both their high school diploma and post-secondary degree or certificate.

The Dual Credit Program is a partnership between Kilgore ISD (KISD) and Kilgore College (KC). Dual credit courses are college level courses offered through Kilgore College and approved by Kilgore ISD. Dual credit courses provide opportunities for capable and highly motivated students to earn both high school credit and college hours at the same time. Dual credit is offered in both core academic and career/ technical (CTE) courses. KISD will pay dual credit tuition for qualifying students.

To qualify for the dual credit program, students must meet college readiness standards and attendance, grades and discipline will be reviewed. Students involved in extra curricular activities should be aware of KC’s attendance policy. If a student misses six or more classes for any reason during a semester, the student will be dropped from the course by KC.

Dual credit courses are offered by the post-secondary institution’s faculty members as well as our own qualified faculty members and are governed by the post-secondary institution’s policies, and follow the post-secondary institution’s established processes for admissions, registration, billing and grade reporting. Courses include college-level content and subject matter; students choosing to participate will be held to the same expectations and standards as college students.

Dual Credit courses offered through CTE are listed below with requirement.
