As the instructional specialist for KMS, I am excited to work with our campus teachers to support them throughout their curriculum and instruction in their classroom.
Throughout the process of planning, I look at state standards, assessments, district curriculum, and other resources to ensure that the students receive instruction that is developed to meet the state level of rigor while maintaining age appropriate application. Our campus will use the TEKs Resource as a pacing guide and a tool to understand the depth and complexity of each standard.
In addition, reviewing student work and assessment data helps guide instructional strategies, student engagement pieces and technology. Each year, we reevaluate the data, methods, and students misconceptions to ensure the best results possible for students.
Furthermore, the integration of engagement through best practices, PBL, technology or game based motivation helps to keep the classroom experience positive and engaging for students. We are always exploring different ways to meet the needs of all learners at KMS.
