Private Lessons
If your child is really interested in music, organizing private lessons outside of school could be a great enrichment opportunity for them. Consult a band director for suggestions.

Considering a new, step-up instrument for your child?
If your son or daughter is still playing the beginner grade instrument they started on in 5th grade, it is most likely time to upgrade. There are a plethora of options and scams out there. Just because it's shiny and new doesn't make it a quality instrument. If the price is too good to be true, there is a reason for this!  Consult your child's director before an instrument purchase.  They will be happy to offer suggestions and advice.

Music In Our Schools Month
March has been officially designated for the observance of Music In Our Schools Month (MIOSM®), the time of year when music education becomes the focus of schools across the nation. The purpose of MIOSM is to raise awareness of the importance of music education for all children – and to remind citizens that school is where all children should have access to music. MIOSM is an opportunity for music teachers to bring their music programs to the attention of the school and the community and to display the benefits school music brings to students of all ages.

Support Music
Research is showing that attendees of performing arts events are more involved in almost all aspects of developing communities than those that are not. In fact, those that regularly attend concerts and perfomances are more than twice as likely to attend community athletic events.
