2015-2016 KGHS Technology Professional Development Opportunities
KGCS Professional Development Explained
All professional staff must participate in a minimum of 10 hours of professional development (PD) during the 2015-2016 school year.
  • Teachers should keep the original copy of proof in a safe place like a PD notebook.
  • Proof includes items such as a certificate, a participants list, or an attendance list.
  • One point will be awarded for each hour of training. Points must be earned in 5+ hour clusters if they are used for recertification.
  • Points may be earned after July 1, 2015 and during the 2015-2016 school year.
  • Proof of professional development should be kept in a teacher’s file in his/her school’s office.
  • Principals will incorporate professional development comments into a teacher’s annual evaluation.
  • Teachers should include professional development goals into their annual professional objectives written at the beginning of each school year.
  • The minimum requirement does not limit the authority of the principal to require additional training to meet individual school needs.
Common Examples of Professional Development

  • Professional development completed during a professional development conference
