Elementary School Play Day – June 9th
All elementary students will be participating in our all-day Play Day on Monday, June 9th. We will have climbing walls, a bouncy house, caterpillar and slide, an obstacle course, and a radar fast-pitch machine. It’s going to be tons of fun!
Children will be going barefoot in all of the toys. (This event is being paid for with some of the proceeds from our chocolate sale. Thank you!!)
Due to safety issues, only elementary students will be allowed to
participate in our Play Day activities. Thanks for your understanding.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BARBECUE & FUN RUN ON JUNE 10TH!
We have some fun activities planned for Tuesday, June 10th!
Students will be participating in a Fun Run beginning at 9:00 at KFES – please make sure your child wears tennis shoes. Then...all families are invited to join us for our Annual Elementary School Barbecue which will take the place of hot lunch on June 10th. We will begin serving Kindergarten classes at 11:30 and work our way up through 4th grade. Our menu will include hamburgers and other goodies! We will be eating outside...so bring a blanket if you want!
Cost: Adults $3.25; Children $1.85 (children will receive free or reduced price lunch if they are currently on the federal program). Please pay for adults and siblings as you go through the lunch line. Please remember to let us know by tomorrow if you are planning to attend! (Return only one slip per family.) Hope to see you!!

Report card will be held if a student has fines of any kind.
We are in the process of placing students in classes for the 2014-2015 school year. If your child will not be attending Kettle Falls Elementary next year, please let us know as soon as possible. We will be posting class lists on the front doors the week after school is out – we will not be having Move-Up Day. Thank you for your support this year!
Last Day of School!
Our last day of school will be Friday, June 13th. We will dismiss at 9:55 a.m.
Students will be given their report cards that morning.
Reminder for 4th Grade Parents – All 4th graders need to go directly to
Kettle Falls Middle School the morning of June 13th, and will remain there
until dismissal time. We will miss you, Fourth Graders!!
Student-Led Conferences/No School
There will be no school on Thursday and Friday, April 17th & 18th, to allow time for our Student-Led Conferences.
Scholastic Book Fair This Week!
Kettle Falls Elementary School’s Scholastic Book Fair will be held this week in our library! Please remember to stop by when you are in the building for conferences! Our hours will be:
Wednesday, April 16 – 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Thursday, April 17 – 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Friday, April 18 – 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
We will be holding Kindergarten Registration April 14th through April 25th, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Elementary School office. Children must be 5 years old by August 31, 2014. Please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate and Immunization record. If your child received his/her shots in Washington State, we can look them up online, print the form and have you sign the form during the registration process. Children must meet immunization requirements by the first day of school, but do not need to be fully immunized before registration. The Kettle Falls Lady Lions’ Easter Egg Hunt will be held this Saturday, April 19th, beginning at noon sharp, at the Old Kettle Swimming Area.
Our class pictures will be taken on Friday, May 2, 2014. More details later.

Kettle Falls Elementary School
Kettle Falls Schools will be on Spring Vacation April 7th through April 11th. School will be dismissed at 10:55 on Friday, April 4th.
(Please remember that on early dismissal days, buses pick up elementary student first, M.S. students second and H.S. students last at the end of the school day.)

CHOCOLATE ORDERS ARE DUE TOMORROW!
Tonight is your last night to sell
chocolates! All chocolate orders
are due on Wednesday, March 5th. Please return just the bottom
portion of the yellow information sheet TOMORROW. Keep the colored order forms with customer names at home so
you will have it for delivering chocolates. Chocolates will be ready for
pick-up on March 18th.
Student Led Conferences
Please remember to sell chocolates over the weekend! Order forms are due on Wednesday, March 5th. Remember to bring in your daily drawing slips -
one for every 5 items that you sell. All tickets remain in the “hat” for each day’s drawings. We still have some really nice daily prizes and, on March 6th, we will be giving away several bigger prizes....... footballs, basketballs, games, a CD player, AND FOUR BICYCLES. The proceeds from this sale are spent on student activities such as assemblies, field trips, end of the year picnics and parties, and our big Play Day with the bouncy castles, etc. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PARTICIPATING!

Kettle Falls Elementary is sponsoring a World's Finest Chocolate sale to raise funds for school activities and projects for our students.
We will be taking orders for eight delicious products. Each item sells for $6.00.
Our sale begins Wednesday, February 26, and ends on Wednesday, March 5.
1. Collect no money now.....just promises to buy.
2. List names and items ordered on the attached colored order form (Keep the colored order form to use when delivering chocolates).
3. On Wednesday, March 5, students will return only the information listed below to their teacher.
Students and parents are encouraged to ask friends, relatives, and close neighbors to order chocolate knowing the profits will benefit the school. Please do not send children door-to-door. Parents may also take the order forms to work, meetings, bowling, etc. - Everyone Loves Chocolate! Thank you for your generous support!
The chocolate will be available for pick up on Tuesday, March 18, in the Elementary Lunchroom between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Money is to be collected as you deliver the chocolate and returned to school by March 24. Checks should be made payable to Kettle Falls Elementary ASB.

Valentine parties will be held on Friday, February 14th! (Times vary; please watch for classroom notes to be sent home.)
For the safety of our students, balloons are not allowed on buses. If you have balloons sent to your child for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion, please remember that you will need to pick them up at the end of the day.
Just a reminder…..for the safety of our students, the parking lot on the west side of the school by the lunchroom, will be blocked off before and after school. Please use Oak Street as your pick-up/drop-off spot. Thank you!
THERE WILL BE NO SCHOOL ON PRESIDENTS’ DAY, MONDAY, FEBRUARY 17TH, 2014.
You are encouraged to join BINGO on Wednesday nights at Kettle Falls High School. Games begin at 6:30 p.m. Early Bird activities start at 6:00. $10.00 to play. (Additional $1 each if you choose to do the Early Bird games.) Cash prizes given away. Refreshments available. Children are allowed to play, but must be accompanied by an adult. This activity is sponsored by the Kettle Falls Rotary Club.
MISSOULA CHILDREN’S THEATRE – “PINOCCHIO”
Auditions will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “Pinocchio” on Monday, March 3rd, from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m. at the Colville H.S. Auditorium. All students must have a signed permission slip to audition forms available in our school office. Performances will be held at the Colville H.S.
