Primary Education (K-3)

When choosing our school’s Distributed Learning, Open Based Learning or Blended Program, a B.C. certified teacher manages your child's educational program. This is different from Homeschooling, where the parent/facilitator is responsible for creating and delivering their child’s educational program.

DISTRIBUTED LEARNING: Program Details

  • A program with full teacher support

  • All resources supplied

  • Parent involvement is required for delivery of program

  • Online classes support core subjects

  • Teacher assessments and reporting


HOME BASED LEARNING:

  • A program directed and evaluated by a teacher that accommodates parental input in developing a program best suited to your child

  • Parent involvement is required for delivery of program and parent has considerable input into:

    • choice of resources

    • how the content is delivered

  • Regular teacher assessments, as well as parent feedback & student self-evaluation are part of the reporting process

  • Financial support for individualized resources upon approval up to $600


BLENDED LEARNING:

  • A program that combines the freedom to learn outside a structured classroom that is combined with regularly scheduled face to face learning sessions

  • Expectation to attend defined times for specific instruction is expected

  • Parent involvement is required for delivery of program

  • Teacher assessments and reporting
