Welcome Back!

posted Aug 14, 2018, 7:40 PM by Darren MacArthur

Welcome back to another exciting year here at KCS.

I can't wait to get another remarkable year underway with all of our students, staff, and parents. We look forward to grades (K-5) return on Wednesday, August 23, and preschool students on Sept. 4.

It's been a quick summer and we've continued to work hard to improve our building, technology, and curriculum. When you return this fall, you'll notice all new ceilings and LED lighting in the academic wing, along with some bright new colors for each classroom.

Thanks to the Howard Jackson Foundation providing us with over $15,000.00 in grant funds, we're also planning to add at least 20 new iPads and a building-wide security system in the next few weeks.

With the addition of the new iPads, along with the new Chromo books, we are quickly making our way towards the goal of a one-to-one setting for students.

Best wishes and God Bless,

Principal MacArthur

All of us at KCS want to thank Bishop Zinkula for leading our Mass on All Saints Day. Bishop Zinkula, Deacon Agnoli, Dr. Morrison, and Father Lathrop were able to spend extra time with kids and enjoyed an entertaining lunch with them.

I want to thank everyone for such a great turnout at the Fall Carnival. The Home & School Committee headed by Sarah Church and Jessica Pullinger did another outstanding job this year. I also want to thank all the other wonderful volunteers and committee members for all their hard work and dedication.

This year’s goal was a hefty, $6000.00 and the committee was able to raise a little over $5000.00 for the single night’s event.

All the staff, students, and families of KCS would like the thank the Howard Jackson Grant Foundation for their support. Thanks to them, we received a grant for $31,100.00 to support building and technology upgrades. We have completed roof repairs over the main lobby and office area with some of the funds. We were also able to purchase 20 new Chromebooks, a 36 station charging cart, two new HP laptops, and two Gen-3 LED mobile Smartboards.

Again, thank you HJ Grand Foundation!
