Progestorone-based Contraception and Immune Activation in postpartum Kenyan Women

Dr. Roxby  will design and implement a cohort study of 50 HIV-seronegative postpartum women in Kenya to study systemic and local genital tract immune activation before and after initiation of progesterone-based contraceptive methods. This cohort will be a companion to a cohort of 100 HIV-positive postpartum women in Nairobi Kenya who will also be initiating contraception.
