The International Symposium on Natural Immunity to HIV
Nov 15 – 17, 2009
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Attendees from the Kenya Research Program: Carey Farquhar, MD, MPH
Jennifer Slyker, PhD
The International Symposium on Natural Immunity to HIV has two goals: First, to bring together 100 leaders in HIV/AIDS from around the world to share their research findings, including these researchers, key stakeholders and thought leaders in immunology, genetics, and systems biology. Second, in order to maximize the long-term benefits and impact of the symposium, we will seek to create a consortium that will develop a framework for assembling and correlating the existing data. The consortium will also drive and support new and expanded international research activities to build scientific knowledge that will inform the development of an HIV/AIDS vaccine.
