Kemp Jr. High NJHS is a chapter of the National Junior Honor Society which is an outgrowth of the National Honor Society. Through the years, NJHS has developed into a unique organization that recognizes outstanding middle level students, all the while borrowing many concepts from its sister organization.

The objectives of NJHS are “to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in the nation’s secondary school students.

All NJHS meetings will be on selected Friday mornings at 7:25 a.m. in the KJH Library. All members must attend to deliver their completed service hour form. A minimum of 12 service hours per 9 week grading period are due at each meeting. Service hours performed in the summer may be counted for the first 9 weeks only.
Students that have been at KJH for at least one full semester (as stipulated in the By-Laws), and have attained a cumulative grade average of core classes of at least 85%, will then be evaluated on the basis of service, leadership, character, and citizenship.  Those meeting the criteria are eligible for membership in NJHS.  Inductions of the KJH NJHS will be in late Jan.
