Welcome to the Kean University School of Nursing
at Raritan Valley Community College
The Kean University School of Nursing is fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. In Fall 2012, Kean University received full accreditation for the next ten years from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
Kean University was one of the first programs in New Jersey to offer an RN-BSN Program and our graduates are highly visible nurse leaders throughout the state in practice, administration, evidence-based practice/research, and as educators in academic settings and in health care agencies.
All nursing courses in the Kean University RN-BSN Offsite Program are available at the North Branch campus. The nursing courses (lectures) are predominantly held on Fridays with non-nursing courses offered through RVCC and Kean University at various times during the academic year and summer sessions. Since the inception of the program, nurses have found the program to be flexible, affordable, and manageable in balancing their personal, family and career responsibilities.
The RN-BSN program can be completed in approximately twenty months, although there is the opportunity to fast track or proceed at a slower pace. In addition, bridge courses to the MSN at Kean University, as well as BSN courses for second degree students and select graduate courses in the MSN program are offered at Kean University’s offsite RVCC location.
A new dual-admission option is available for RVCC nursing students. Upon successful completion of their first year nursing courses, students in good academic standing can enroll in select Kean University nursing courses. The dual-admission will facilitate timely completion of the BSN degree at RVCC through Kean University.
I look forward to meeting you to discuss your educational objectives as you plan yor path of progression to completion of the BSN and beyond.
