College Composition at Kean University

The College Composition program at Kean University teaches students the processes, skills, and strategies needed for becoming stronger writers.  Students learn rhetorically-informed and reflective processes for developing texts; strategies for critical writing, reading, and thinking; and methods for using technological tools for composing.  Students who successfully complete the program can critically analyze a rhetorical situation and prepare a response that meets the audience’s needs and expectations in terms of content, organization, style, and correctness.  Essentially, the program provides the foundation on which students will build their writing and rhetorical abilities throughout their academic career and the rest of their lives.
