Originally from Israel, I was recruited in 1969 by Adelphi University to play soccer. After receiving my B.A. in Physical Education and M.A .in Physical Education with special concentration in Special Education, both from Adelphi University,I elected Columbia University where I earned my M.ed and Ed.D in Applied Physiology.
I started my professional career in the private sector as an Exercise Physiologist, in charge of cardiac rehabilitation, before arriving on Kean College campus then, and Kean University now. I have been on the faculty of the Department of Physical Education Recreation and Health of Kean University since 1983. During this time I have developed, taught and revised 22 courses on both the main campus in Union and the satellite campus of Ocean County College. Outside my Department, I taught Freshman Seminar, Research and Technology, and Science and Technology in the Modern World, in the Department of General Education. In addition, in the last 12 years I have served as the coordinator of both the undergraduate Teacher Certification Program for grades K-12, and the past Baccalaureate Teacher Certification Program. I have been actively involved in university community service, advisement functions,Research Forum,as well as serving on many college and university levels. I have written extensively for various publications at Kean University, including the College of Education "Connection", "The Tower", the "Quantum Leap", "Vitality", "The Kean Record" and the ever popular "Health and Fitness Newsletter".
This is an exciting time of change for Kean University and I enjoy being part of it.
