A one-day program fostering computer science and
technology for teachers and school administrators

October 2011 Workshop Schedule, Presenters, and Resources

We feel that the critical national need for more computer scientists
can in part be addressed by educating teachers about computer
science teaching methods, materials, and careers.
Kean's CS4HS Workshop will provide middle and high school teachers
and administrators with:
  • Curriculum materials for teaching computational thinking in high school math and CS classes.
  • Examples and hands-on experience using Scratch, Alice, and GeoGebra for the high school math classroom.
  •  Hands-on experience with Google sites, use in teaching, and how your students  can benefit.
  • A broader understanding of computer science careers and importance to the region and to the USA.
  • Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from Kean University will be offered to attendees.
Through the generosity of our sponsors, this event is FREE to participants, however, space is limited.
A waiting list will be maintained and if you register, but are unable to attend, please let us know so that
we may offer your spot to an individual on our waiting list.  Thank you!

Organized and hosted by Kean University's Department of Computer Science and
the NJ Center for Science, Technology and Mathematics (NJSTM).
Supported by Google's CS4HS initiative and Sams Publishing.
