About us

The Center for International Studies (CIS) promotes and develops opportunities that provide global and cross-cultural understanding to Kean students, faculty, and staff. The Center for International Studies administers Kean’s Study Abroad program and develops academic partnerships with universities and organizations throughout Europe, Asia, The Americas and the world. Kean’s “Travelearn” program is our short-term, faculty led study abroad program and offers participants an enriched academic international travel experience. Traditional Study Abroad programs are offered for a full semester or academic year and offer opportunities to participate in programs offered in over 30 different nations.

The Center for International Studies maintains direct affiliations with the following study abroad organizations: The American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS), Cultural Experiences Abroad (CEA), College Consortium for International Studies (CCIS), and International Studies Abroad (ISA)  CIS staff are active members of NAFSA Association of International EducatorsThe Institute of International Education (IIE)  and New Jersey Global Educators (NJGE).
