On February 2nd, 2012 we will be hosting a Parent Academy in the AL Brown media center from 6:00-8:00pm.
This session is designed for parents/guardians of all 10th and 11th grade students. 10th and 11th graders are invited to attend with their parents.
6:00-6:30- PLAN Individual Student
6:30-7:00- refreshments and Q&A
7:00-8:00- Preparing for the ACT
All 10th graders in North Carolina have taken the PLAN assessment
and all 11th graders will be taking the ACT on March 6th. Carl Forbes, a senior consultant from
ACT, will teach parents how to read the PLAN individual student reports
so that they can be used to best prepare students for college and/or
careers after high school. He will then share resources and describe
strategies for preparing for the ACT. There will also be time for
questions and answers.
Please register for the workshop using
the "Parent" link
on the KCS webpage. The "Learning from PLAN &
Preparing for ACT" parent academy is listed under "courses".
