August 2019 Program
Back to Basics
Colleen Rowe, Carolyn DeGroff and Carol Mundy will be showing you the in's and out's of good jewelry design and the importance if good connections and safe closures.
Carolyn, Colleen and Carol will each have a station in the meeting room for you to visit. Be sure you visit each one to learn something new or just to get a refresher.
If you are new to putting a design together, whether stringing or completing a special bead project, these ladies will be able to help you. If you are an experienced designer you may be able to pick up something you have forgotten or another way of doing a finish or a closure or putting a design together. Sometimes, you can teach an old dog a new trick.
Carolyn DeGroff will share basic design techniques providing information about using end caps and bead caps. She will also discuss stringing sequences comparing sizes and shapes. Carolyn will sharae ideas that will make your work sing. Some folks just know what to do-intuitively-some of us need some guidance.
Colleen Rowe will share with us information regarding the use of crimp covers, crimps, horseshoes and anything else in her arsenal. Colleen is very productive and will be full of excellent suggestions. Just think about what she shows us at every meeting. You will love her enthusiasm and creativity.
Carol Mundy will share various types of closures. She always adds a beautiful closure to her works. She will discuss what makes one type of closure better than another in a particular project. Carol will explain and/or demonstrate how to properly attach closures. Carol says, "we all love magnets but they are not always the best choice." She will show you lots of alternatives.
