Mahesh Kalita

Delighted to present my profile before you all.

I am presently working with Seismic Wave Analysis Group (SWAG) as a PhD student at KIng Abdullah University of Science and technology( KAUST, Saudi Arabia) under the supervision of Prof. Tariq Alkhalifah. Well, my journey was started off from a small north-east Indian town named Rangia, from where I did my matriculation and thereafter completed my higher secondary from Guwahati,India.

My next stop was University of Delhi, where I pursued B.Sc.(Physics) and that landed me at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, in pursuance of M.Sc.(Applied Geophysics) where I dealt with depth estimation to curie isotherms Of Indian Subcontinent.

After that I did my Master of Research (Exploration Geophysics) from Institut De Physique Du Globe De Paris, France. The concerned area of research was 4D seismic data attribute computation under guidance of Dr. Eric Forgues,Land Reservoir Monitoring, CGG, Massy, France.

I have also been enriching my knowledge base through various summer experiences and academic projects. Also, I have gained Industrial experience at CGG university, France in data processing and at ONGC India as well.

Armed with the wide academic and industrial knowledge base and experience of more than 6 years, I intend to bring significant ideas, value and zeal to the research area. Current my research focus is mainly in seismic imaging. I am working in excitation imaging condition which is deconvolution by nature ensuring the correct phase and amplitude of the seismic image. being it very cheap. the essence lies its ability to give cleaner image. Of course there ain't no such thing as free lunch. This method is handicapped whenever multipathing occurs.
