Leadership

Dear Parents,

I wanted to take this opportunity to give you a little insight into the Leadership course.  Our goal is to help students develop leadership, personal, and business skills.  By the end of the year, your child will have an understanding of peer pressure, personal responsibility, self-motivation, self control, public speaking and much more.

Part of being a leader is being able to serve those around you.  Each student will be required to help organize a service project this year.   We will be working to raise money throughout the year to support our projects. The students may also come up with creative ways to raise money for their particular cause.   On the back of this letter I have included a list of dates for our scheduled events so far.

We will also be traveling to the elementary schools every Thursday during the Leadership class period and lunch.  They will be connected with a class and specific students who they will mentor while we are there.  They can take their lunch or get one in the elementary cafeteria.  They will also have an opportunity to work with our students in life skills and in various other ways we serve our campus.

I look forward to having a wonderful and eventful year with this class.  I hope to not only equip your child with leadership skills but also with the heart of a servant as we open their eyes to those around them.  Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions.
