Mahalo to KES families for supporting Staff Appreciation Week

         On behalf of the KES staff and KES Ohana, we would like to thank all of you who made Staff Appreciation Week a smashing success. The staff was very grateful for your generosity in providing ono pupu and dessert. The selection was overly abundant! Thank you also to those who generously donated monetary gifts for this particular event.

         A special, “Mahalo,” to Rae Yoshida, AJ Quinn, Marla Takata, Colleen Kamimura and Jennifer Shimoko, for coordinating the Staff Appreciation Week. “Mahalo” also to Jennifer Adkins, Cathy Possedi, Stacy Paris, Shawna French, Dan Matsumoto, Tomoko Sanehira, Leanne Watanabe, Minori Oumi, Mrs. Akana (Mrs. Nagaishi’s mom), and Mrs. Nakamoto (Kai and Micah Kaneko’s grandma) for assisting with “Happy Hour”.

         Can’t forget the awesome Student Council: Aisha Yamamoto, Cole Amine, Reef Lee, Kamryn Yoneshige, Amanda Tanigawa, Karlee Hoffacker, Kylie Ebisuya, Mariko Quinn, Matthew Latorre, Sydney Settsu, Jabe Kahawaii, Anuhea Tanoura, and Rachel Allred. They either helped with lei making, putting together the survival kits and “Pay Day” goodie bags, or distributed the various items to the teachers. Also assisting the Student Council were Cole Paris, Ali and Sydni Yoshida, Cole, Duke and Syndey Mijo, Micah French, Malia Anne and Michael Shea Quinn, Katie Kahawaii, and Brayden and Jayce Kamimura. We couldn’t have done it without your help. Thank you!

         Last but not least, we’d like to acknowledge the community members and KES parents who generously donated monetary gifts or goods: Hilo Candy, Price Busters, Delta Airlines, Walmart, Kaneohe Longs/CVS, Hershey’s, Royal Hawaiian Golf Course, Pepsi, Colleen Nakasone, Jennifer Shimoko, Marla Takata, AJ Quinn, Dr. J. Support Drive Update

    A BIG MAHALO to everyone who helped to make the 2011-2012 KES Ohana Support Drive a great success!  Overall, 65% of all Kaneohe Elementary Students participated in this year’s support drive – AWESOME!!  Your generous monetary donations will be used to support programs that support our school and will directly benefit every student.

Highest Participation Rates per Classroom (Click here for all classroom info):

Our First Place winners will receive 3-Ice Cream Vouchers per student in the classroom:

(TIE) Room A-1, Ms. Smits’ Class (Pre-K) – 100% (5/5)

(TIE) Room D-21, Ms. Shigezawa’s class (Grade 4) – 100% (26/26)

Our Second Place winner will receive 2-Ice Cream Vouchers per student in the classroom:

Room D-23, Ms. Kaneko-Tokuda’s class (Grade 4) – 88% (21/24)

Our Third Place winner will receive 1-Ice Cream Voucher per student in the classroom:

Room C-18, Ms. Burch’s class (Grade 2) – 82% (18/22)

Thank you, Kaneohe families & community, for making McTeachers' Night a huge success!

A Big Mahalo to our families, faculty and staff of Kaneohe Elementary for helping to make our Second Annual McTeacher’s Night a success!!!  We made a total of $1180.00 for our children.  Monies will be applied to our Music Program.
