Social Studies Activities for Nov. 30 - Dec. 4

Please keep in mind that there are three due dates coming up at the end of the week for your simulation tasks. Prioritize your tasks and use your time in the computer lab, your study halls and homework time at home wisely so you can earn the maximum amount of points.

  • take basic notes on the 5 Ws of a news article

IN COMPUTER LAB ROOM 14
  • Take Vocabulary Notes #1-4 in spiral (click link to get notes)
  • Finish taking research notes for group report & begin writing up report
  • Use The Flying Inkpot International News Links to find two news articles (remember: NO SPORTS) that took place in countries for which students are completing Fact Sheets. Use Babel Fish to translate the web page. The Resource Page has some tips for using these sites. PRINT YOUR ARTICLES.
  • Use remaining time to work on Fact Sheets, Mini-Projects, news or maps
  • Homework: work for 15 minutes on a task of your choice: maps, mini-project, fact sheets, group report or news (or study for States & Capitals quiz)
