Welcome to the Health and Medical Sciences Page
Welcome to the Health and Medical Sciences Academy. 2016 marks the start of a full academy. We support 2 cohorts of students in grades 9-12. This year has gotten off to a great start with more than 50 of our students participating in internships throughout the community. We continue to thrive and are excited about the work that the students are producing. Thank you to our community groups
and individuals that serve on the Advisory Board and who continue to
provide insight and expertise.
For the past seventeen years I have taught Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Sports Medicine, Ecology, and Student Leadership in Albemarle County Schools, and I am thrilled to now be partnering with community businesses in order to provide students with the appropriate knowledge and skills required to be successful in health science careers.
This continues to be an exciting opportunity to serve as the Director of the
HMSA and the energy and support for this work is greatly appreciated.
