Engaging Students Through P-Based Learning

In June 2016, Albemarle High School teachers participated in a three day Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction Institute. Teachers and administrators attended professional development workshops and worked in teams to plan towards a more diverse, problem based, interdisciplinary curriculum.  While Albemarle regularly engages in this type of work, the institute energized teachers and expanded their understanding of P-Based Learning. 

This site showcases the work AHS is developing and serves as a resource to all teachers.  Projects are highlighted by content area or team.  Resource pages deepen professional understanding of PBL and the various forms it may take.  Most importantly, this site provide PLCs with ready-to-use design tools that guide the planning process. Our ultimate goal is to engage all students by designing interdisciplinary learning experiences that activate critical thinking and the search for real world solutions.
