Welcome to 8th Grade Science!

Hello! My name is Michelle Martian and I am so excited to get the opportunity to be your teacher this year. Here is a little bit about myself. I graduated from Black Hills State University. My career began in Sturgis, where I taught elementary physical education and coached volleyball, basketball, and cross country. During this time I married my husband, Larry. We just had our 26th year anniversary. After teaching for six years, I decided to stay home with our two children, Nathan and Jessica. I was able to enjoy life as a stay at home mom for six years. The next chapter of my life began when I came to Douglas Middle School. This is my sixteenth year teaching 8th grade science, which I love!! When I am not teaching, I enjoy hanging out with family, going to the lake to jetski, traveling, and reading. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and getting to know you throughout the coming school year. See you soon:)
