55th Annual Mississippi Civil Rights Martyrs Memorial Service, Caravan, Conference, and March for Justice

Neshoba County, Mississippi

 

Please join us as we remember, honor and demand justice for all Mississippi Civil Rights Martyrs.

Only a token few of the civil rights murders committed in Mississippi have adequately investigated and prosecuted.

 

Thursday June 20, 2019-- Jackson, MS

 

·   2:30pm—Caravan begins at the Council of Federated Organizations –COFO at 1017 JR Lynch Street, Jackson, MS near the Jackson State University Campus. 

After, we will visit

·   MW Stringer Grand Lodge-- 1072 JR Lynch Street

·   Jackson State University-- 1400 JR Lynch Street

·   We will end the day with dinner at Piccadilly’s at 350 W .Woodrow Wilson Ave

 

Friday, June 21, 2019-- Jackson, MS and various sites in the MS Delta

 

·   8:00 am—Meet at the Mississippi State Capital-- 400 High Street for Roll Call of Mississippi Civil Rights Martyrs

·   8:40 am—Caravan departs for Medgar Evers’ Home-- 2323 Margaret Walker Alexander Drive home.

·   Caravan departs to Greenwood, MS

·   Lunch

·   Depart to Money, MS, Bryant’s Store—Emmet Till

·   Place of Emmett Till’s murder place—Glendora-- Tallahatchie County, MS

·   Fannie Lou Hamer Memorial Gardens----929 Byron Street, Ruleville, MS

 

Saturday, June 22,2019—Lauderdale and Neshoba Counties

 

·   8 am-- Gather at First Union Missionary Baptist Church—610 38th Ave, Meridian, MS

·   Caravan visits—

o   Chaney’s Home,

o   Chaney’s Grave

o   Rockcut Road—Philadelphia, MS, murder site of Chaney, Goodman, and Schwerner

o   Neshoba County Jail—Where Chaney, Goodman, and Schwerner detained

o   Depart for Mt Zion United Methodist Church 11191 Road 747 Philadelphia, MS

o   Depart for Longdale Community and Educational Center—10470 Road 632

o   Picnic at Longdale Community and Educational Center
