Career and Technical Education – CTE

CTE prepares students for a wide range of careers and further educational opportunities. 

CTE prepares students to be college and career-ready through classes that teach applied academic skills, employability skills, and job-specific and technical skills.

Did you know?

  • 68% of students (985) were enrolled in at least one CTE course in 2015-2016.

  • 95% graduation rate for students who earned 2 or more credits in a career pathway. 

  • 125 JSD high school students in 2015-2016 enrolled in one or more dual enrollment courses earning high school and university credits through articulation agreements with UAS/UAF.
  • Many JSD high school students earned Industry Certifications in NCCER, OSHA 10, Forklift, ETT, CPR/FA, CNA, Food Worker Cards.
