Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year at Danby-Rush Tower Middle School! I am extremely excited as this is my first year of teaching, and I am privileged to be part of such a great school district! I will be teaching 7th grade science and language arts.  I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Middle School Education from Central Methodist University. Prior to being employed at Danby, I was a substitute teacher for 3 ½ years with one semester as a 7th and 8th grade long-term writing substitute. I completed my student teaching here at Danby under the guidance of Mrs. Cori Duepner and learned a lot not only from her but also from many of the other great staff in this district. I cannot wait to take my prior experience and use it to educate your children so that they can have bright futures (and hopefully excite them about learning in the process).

For those of you who like to stay informed, I have many ways that you can keep track of what is going on in my classroom. First and foremost, infinite campus is something that I highly encourage you to monitor so that you can keep track of your child’s grades. I also have a classroom website where you can find my google calendar. I will keep my calendar updated so that you can be informed of what we are doing in class and know about upcoming quizzes and tests. I also have an account with remind.com so that you and your child can receive emails or text reminders about quizzes and tests. If you cannot find the information you are looking for from my website, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to being a part of your child’s personal and academic growth this school year and I will do everything in my power to make sure that your child is successful in my classroom.

Thank you,

Kyle Wilkey
