My name is Mrs. Fred and I am the Librarian
here at Saint John Paul the Great Catholic High School.  I warmly welcome you to the website for the Library.

The mission of the St. John Paul the Great Library:
To provide the materials and services which support the mission of the entire school community.  All resources provided in our technologically modern Library are here for the service of students, teachers and other stakeholders in order to engender in all a love of the good, the true and the beautiful.  We are committed to providing our stakeholders with the opportunity to study, to research and to collaborate on projects, ensuring access (in and out of class-time) to materials required to meet the range of these information needs. We strive to assist in all achieving their best, becoming life-long learners into the 21st Century.

Here you will find access to the School's library catalog, a subscription-catalog of online databases, what's new in the Library, and some great research tips.  We also have links to subject-specific topics -- links which will aid you in your research projects.

To quickly go where you need to be, click on each of the tabs above:
  • Library Catalog tab allows you to search our Collection -- currently over 7000 books, magazines and journals which you are allowed to check-out and use.
  • Database tab is a link to Info-Trac, a "clearing house" of databases to help you find journal articles and peer-reviewed essays on just about any subject.  This is a subscription service; please use it!
  • Research Tips tab will give you an overview of best-practices for finding and using legitimate, authenticated resources for your reference work. Here's where you'll also find links citation resources and Purdue's OWL (Online Writing Lab).
  • Subject-Specific Links tab will get you to awesome links for term projects and special reports.  Please ask me if you need any other suggestions.
  •  The Resource Request tab will take you to an online form.  Here, you can request books, magazines, videos, etc that would be great additions to our Collection.  I can't promise we'll buy everything, but I will promise to take your suggestions seriously.

I'm here to help you.  Please stop in or email me with any questions, suggestions or research needs!
