Sites for Sharing Information on Major Procurements with Public Stakeholders

The Government of the District of Columbia is using Google Sites to share information with the public on major government procurements. Using Google Sites, the DC government allows contractors and other stakeholders easy access to procurement updates, documents, ideas, suggestions, images and videos. The “Questions and Answers” section allows real-time collaboration between contractors and government officials.  This open forum provides all interested parties the same access to the same information, thereby ensuring the level playing field that the Office of Contracting and Procurement requires.

Two sample procurement sites:
1. MPD Evidence Warehouse Procurement
Consolidated Storage Initiative Procurement
Sites for Employee Personal Profiles and Performance Management

The Government of the District of Columbia is also using Google Sites to allows employees to develop personal profiles and manage performance.  Each employee's site contains a short bio of the individual and contact information with Google Maps showing office location and Google Calendar integrated showing employee availability.

Employees and contractors have a yearly performance plan with KPIs (key performance indicators) for the year. Google Sites allows employees to easily manage a list of KPIs and quarterly numbers in Google spreadsheet and publish them "dashboard" style on the Goals & Perfomance section on personal profile which could be shared with coworkers and managers.
