I earned my teaching degree from Brigham Young University and I  started my teaching career working in a Residential Treatment Center in Provo. I discovered there that I enjoyed working with "at-risk" students.  When the center decided to downsize I found work with the Jordan School District teaching at Bingham Middle School in the old Bingham High in Copperton, UT where I was assigned to work with the "at-risk" students. When an opening came to Valley, it seemed logical to transfer. It is a move I have never regretted, for I find that I have had the privilege of working with some of the finest young people one could hope to meet. If you want to know where you stand with them just ask. Better yet, don't.
In 2003 I finished up my course work and earned a  Level II (Master's equivalent)   reading endorsement in Secondary Ed.,  one of the first in the district. I then started working on a Master's Degree at Lesley University and completed it in 2009 earning a Master's Degree in Educational Technology.  I have been responsible for training the teachers of Valley to use technology in their classrooms ever since.
In the summer of 2014 I discovered a love for CrossFit and have found greater health through my participation.  I also started a blog about my experience called "CrossFit for the Middle Ages  http://crossfitmiddleages.blogspot.com/ When I am not at school or in the gym,  I spend time with my wife, who is also a teacher.  She and I are parents to two beautiful daughters. One a graduate of Utah State University and the other soon to be a graduate of Southern Utah University. Both daughters have each earned a Master's Degree of their own. Learning is a passion in our family.
