Job Shadow

  • Job Shadow Information
    Are you interested in a Career?

    Job Shadow applications will be accepted now through Sept. 15th - Jan. 15th

    and may be picked up on the Work Based Learning center

    from Mrs. Kemp in room AD-14.

     

    Job Shadowing is a structured career activity in which students play an active role in learning.

    The student observes an employee at the work-site to gain    

    valuable career information. Job Shadowing activities last from 2-4 hours.

Host a Job Shadow

  • How to Host a Job Shadow
    ARE YOU WILLING TO HOST A JOB SHADOW?
    If you have a career you would like to share with the students of Herriman High, please contact us!

    EMPLOYER JOB SHADOW:

    · INCLUDE the student in normal work activities.

    · SHARE career path development.

    · EXPLAIN how the department/job relates to the organization.

    · GIVE the students a positive experience.

    THE EMPLOYER WILL:

    · ORIENT the student and provide safety guidelines.

    · CONFIRM the date, time, place and details with the WBL-coordinator .

    · NOTIFY co-workers of the student visit and encourage the sharing of career experiences.

    · INFORM the WBL-coordinator of any required safety clothing or equipment.

    · MONITOR the experience and contact the WBL-coordinator of any problems.
