FastCGI For OpenVMS

FastCGI is a protocol for interfacing interactive programs with a web server. FastCGI is a variation on the earlier Common Gateway Interface (CGI); FastCGI's main aim is to reduce the overhead associated with interfacing the web server and CGI programs, allowing a server to handle more web page requests at once.

BC & JA are more than happy to announce the first release of FastCGI for OpenVMS!

The FastCGI for OpenVMS documentation is available for download in order that you may peruse it prior to requesting a copy of the software. Should you wish to try out the software, please send an email to

  • brett.r.cameron(at)gmail.com and
  • johndapps(at)gmail.com.

We will then be more than happy to send you the kit location.

There is a FastCGI for OpenVMS blog in which we will announce future releases and hope that you will enter into discussions on what you are doing with the software, what other components you are using and any ---we hope none!--- minor errors you may find, in the software or the documentation.

Suggestions for future enhancements will also be more than welcome!

Lastly, we must emphasize that this work is conducted in our copious spare time, so responses and fixes may take a while. Any help with documentation, testing, coding is more than welcome!
