Rubrics and Evaluations

Here are various forms of evaluations that are found on the OSSLT.

Pay close attention to the objectives and expectations at the higher levels found in the rubrics below.

Evaluating Long Answer Questions
As you can see in the rubrics below, your long answer responses are evaluated in two ways:

 -Topic Development

In summary:
-Relate your answer to the question
                    -Choose a clear opinion
-Provide proof to support your opinion using details
-Your ideas are organized into 5 paragraphs

Writing Conventions:

In Summary:
-As long as your errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and style do not distract from your response you
                        should be okay.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE PERFECT WRITING TO SCORE A PERFECT MARK ON THE OSSLT!

These rubrics are fairly consistent for every type of written response on the test.  As long as you are organized in your responses, stay on topic, and have little to few errors in your writing then you will be successful in this portion of the test.
