Jakarta International School welcomes you to the first ever Middle School Global Issues Network conference created by students for students on February 14 & 15, 2014.
The East Asia Regional Council of Schools is proud to sponsor this first of a kind opportunity specifically designed for Middle School Students.
Inspired by the 2012 GINSING conference, which included a large Middle School component hosted by The United World College of Southeast Asia, Jakarta International School Middle School students are hosting their very own Middle School only "Dare to Care" GIN conference.
Jakarta is a uniquely qualified location when it comes to global issues. Participants will begin their experience with a "Burst the Bubble" field trip so that they can take action and participate in activities related to solving global issues.
Our student committees have selected two motivational speakers who tackled large global issues when they themselves were kids. Zach Bonner was seven years old when he started The Little Red Wagon Foundation to help underprivileged children. Austin Gutwein was nine years old when he began shooting free throws to raise money for orphans. These inspiring role models prove that being a kid shouldn't stop you from making a change in the world.
We are looking forward to gathering GIN students from all over the region so that we can share our experiences with each other. Come prepared to share with others what you are doing to help make a difference where you live.
