I have created some examples on our RSC Northwest channel so you can see some of the potential for education.
To be able to get the AR experience you will need to install the Aurasma app.
Once you have the app click on the large white A at the bottom of the screen to open the menu options. You then need to access the search (magnifying glass icon). Enter RSC Northwest in the search and select RSC Northwest's channel (look for the RSC Northwest logo), click Follow. To return to the main screen and then scan images click on the square frame icon in the bottom centre of the screen. Any of the images attached below will then trigger AR events. If you have issues you can check the channels you have subscribed to by looking in the same menu under the little person icon.
Having you own skinned app means that users will just need to download your app and won't need to go through this process. However with both systems any new content added to channels will become automatically available to you.
STOP PRESS The RSC Northwest app is now available from iTunes, if you download this you do not need to follow the process above, all RSC Northwest content will be automatically available to you. The app is also available on Google Play but it does depend on your device as to its availability. If you can download Aurasma to your Android device but not the RSC Northwest app then please use the procedure above to add the appropriate channel.
The resources produced by Kendal College through the Jisc funding call 2012 are now available for all to use. You can download the Kendal College Living Learning app or use the RSC Northwest app to access the AR content. This resource contains 14 posters featuring different aspects of Plumbing. Again you can subscribe to Kendal's Living Learning channel through the generic Aurasma app.
The images below are all triggers for use with the RSC Northwest app.
Although these resources are available under Creative Commons, as are the images and videos associated with them, please do not alter or distort them as this will render the AR content unusable.
Most posters are designed to be printed as A1 or A2 posters.
The Senses collection (sight, sound, smell, taste, touch) are designed to be printed as a set of A3 posters.
If you use any of these resources I would welcome feedback and ideas to develop further resources to showcase ideas so please feel free to comment below.
