    Welcome to Mrs. Geary-Mueller's Homepage

Next week will be a busy week: pictures, plays and a math test (details below).

We will be having our second math test next week on multiplying larger numbers. For the most part the students have grasped the idea; however, a few students need to sharpen their multiplication facts.

Please remember that your child is responsible to visit the Verkehrsschule three times before they close at the end of November. Officer Dumdei will be visiting our classes in November and I am sure he will ask the students if they have been practicing.

Recently the Senat sent out a new grading scale. So if you have noticed that your child's grades have changed it is due to the new system. The new percentages are at the bottom of this page.

Our parent teacher conference schedule will have some changes (minor). I will send out the latest version by Monday, if not sooner.

Remember to pack library books on  Sunday evenings.  Library instruction is on Mondays.

Homework chart:  Each child has been given a homework chart.  I will stamp the chart daily when your child has completed their homework.  If your child has completed their homework for the entire week, then they will receive a stamp for Friday Fun.  If your child has not completed all their assignments, a signature is required in the Friday Fun square. Please check this chart on a weekly basis.

When will I see my child’s daily work:   Your child’s graded work from all subjects taught by me will be sent home in a homemade folder after each Math unit and/or Social Studies unit (approximately every 6 to 8 weeks)During fourth your child's grades will be available through an online program called "learnboost". Each child will receive an access code at the beginning of fourth grade in order to log-in.

Through third grade JFKS uses a checklist after each semester to inform you of your child's progress.  However, starting in 4th grade a number system is in effect.  Below I have included a brief breakdown of our grading system to help you have a better understanding of your child's progress.  During third grade I will use grades periodically to help prepare the students for fourth grade.

1: 100 to 96; 2: 95 to 80; 3: 79 to 60; 4: 59 to 45; 5: 44 to 16; 6: 15 to 0
