Meet the Counselor

My name is Bethany Venable, and this is my second year as School Counselor at Jefferson Junior High School. I am proud to call East Texas my home. I grew up in Daingerfield, Texas and now live in Marshall with my husband, Zach, and our twin boys, Luke and Josiah.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Theatre/Speech Education from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. After graduating, I returned home and have taught Theatre, Speech, and Debate at Marshall High School and Longview High School. I received my M.A. in School Counseling from University of Texas at Tyler.

I am looking forward to a great year at JJHS! If you have any questions or concerns about your student’s progress or what JJHS Counseling center has to offer your child, please do not hesitate to contact me via phone or email.
