ENERGY CONTEST! Let's WIN!!!
West Jeff Elementary is participating in the ReNew Our Schools energy saving contest during the month of October. We will be turning off lights, unplugging computers, and tracking our energy usage so that we can learn to reduce our energy consumption. Please remember to fill out and return the home energy survey to your child's homeroom teacher by October 13th. Together we can come in first place, win money to make our school more energy efficient, and save energy. Also, the class with the most surveys turned in by the 13th wins!!
West Jefferson Elementary (WJE) is located in southern Jefferson County, southwest of Denver on Highway 285 in Aspen Park. WJE school enrolls approximately 300 students in grades K-5 and offers a preschool, before and after school care, and a comprehensive curriculum meeting the needs of all the students- including students in our gifted and talented program as well as students with special needs. Most of the students attending WJES live in the mountain environment and are bused to and from school.
Our PTA and Accountability Committee (BAM) are very active and we encourage parent/family involvement throughout the year. For PTA sponsored programs (like Science Fair, Reflections, Movie Nights and our Spring Carnival) or information on how to get more involved with your child's school, please go to the PTA website for more information. You can also view our BAM website for current and past presentation and agendas as well as opportunities to ask questions and give feedback.
