2016 Warren Tech All School Advisory

All programs at Warren Tech meet on a regular basis with an Advisory Board. The purpose of advisory committees is to provide support, direction and expertise to enhance the educational experience of our students. The Career and Technical Education programs utilize a local advisory committee to assist in planning, conducting and evaluating the educational program to best serve the needs of the students.

Advisory Committees can include, but are not limited to, activities such as:

  • Opportunities for discussion among teachers, students, community and business
  • Suggestions to improve CTE courses and make the best use of community/business resources that are available
  • Assistance in providing students with career training opportunities, continuing education connections, potential jobs and/or work site based learning experiences
  • Recommendations of classroom resources, speakers, tours and field trips to enrich learning
  • Assistance with public relations such as recognizing outstanding students, presenting to civic and other groups, being visible in support of the program during special events and displaying publicity information where appropriate
  • Expertise in reviewing and evaluating facilities and equipment to ensure they are aligned with what will be used in the workplace
  • Expertise pertaining to current trends in business as related to curriculum
  • Securing funding and donations for materials, equipment and other needs of the program
  • Assistance in recruiting new students
  • Judging competitive events of the student organizations

Advisory Boards are the link between the school, community and industry.  We sincerely thank the members of our Advisory Boards for their time and expertise to assist CTE students as they gain valuable post-secondary and workforce readiness skills.
