Hello, Thomson Families!

Thomson students in grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 will take CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success) assessments throughout the next month. Each student will be assessed in English Language Arts (reading and writing) and math. In addition, 5th grade students will be assessed in science. CMAS is the state’s annual academic check-up to help students understand how on track they are for graduation, college or any job they choose. We are able to determine areas of strength and growth for each student.

How can you help your child prepare?

  • Make sure they are getting enough sleep and eating a good breakfast.
  • Be positive! We have been preparing for this assessment all year. They are ready and should be proud of the work they’ve put in!
  • Ask them about what strategies they will use to focus and do their best.

Thomson Tigers' ROAR

It is our hope that our students strive for these qualities every day and that their behavior reflects these qualities.  Staff will encourage students to embrace these beliefs and actions and to integrate these ideals into their behaviors at school.  It is also our hope that these characteristics become intrinsic in our students and that they exhibit the qualities of R.O.A.R. because they are simply the right things to do.
