Teacher Bio

My name is Steven D. Carson and I hold bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Northern Colorado and a master's degree in gifted education from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. I enjoy reading historical, political, and philosophical works and discussing them with friends. I also like watching my favorite TV shows, seeing movies in the theater, and hiking in the mountains. I love cooking on the grill, laughing with friends, and leisure walking. I watch sports regularly and enjoy talking about my favorite players and teams.

I cannot imagine a more rewarding experience than a career in teaching. I care about every student in my classroom and relish the opportunity to share my enthusiasm for history and geography with young people. Effective Social Studies teachers should help students master essential content knowledge while training young citizens in critical thinking and persuasive writing. My primary objectives as a history educator are to instill a personal love of social science in the hearts of my students, inspire them to promote justice at home and abroad, and encourage them to enlist their talents in service to the common good.
