The Falcon Files
from the desk of Tom Burns, Principal

Hello Falcon Bluffs Community,

Welcome to the 2016-17 school year.  It is my great pleasure to introduce myself as Falcon Bluffs Middle School principal.  My roots run deep here as I was part of the staff that opened Falcon Bluffs in 2003.  I spent 9 years teaching here in both core and elective classes before joining the administrative team at Chatfield Senior High.  My wife also taught in our community at Mortensen and Shaffer Elementary.  We have three daughters (Two of which are middle school aged now) and added a puppy to the mix over summer. I have many friends and family in this community and look forward to partnering with you to ensure a successful learning experience for students.

FBMS has a strong reputation of outstanding student achievement.  I believe one of the reasons for this accomplishment is our determination to refine existing strategies and explore new methods to help students be successful.  For example, this upcoming year we will be implementing a new schedule that presents opportunities for enrichment, extension and remediation built into our school day.  In addition, we will continue the tradition of providing after school support every Tuesday and Thursday.  We want to ensure a successful learning environment where students develop intellectual curiosity and rise to meet high expectations.

Please take a moment to browse our website and review the Parent Resources tab to help prepare for the school year. We will continue to update information as we approach the 2016-17 school year.  A few upcoming dates to make note of include:

Please use this online registration to update your student emergency information and school messenger notification preferences, complete fee payments, and obtain all other registration information.

    Bus Riders Information

If your student is planning on riding home on the bus at the end of the school day with another student , a signed parent note must come from home before we can sign off in the office that their parent has approved the transportation home.  The Office will not be accepting verbal parent permissions via phone or student phone texts and we have the right to rescind any note that looks student handwritten.   Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.
