It is art show time!  The 38th Annual Jeffco Elementary Art Show begins soon at Red Rocks Community College.  You can enjoy artwork on display from all of our district elementary schools between February 21st and March 15th, 8am - 7pm.  Anyone may enjoy this open exhibition during this time!

This show is a great honor for young artists, as each school is only allowed to submit 15 artworks.

Representing Red Rocks this year will be:  Tytus, Leah Seeley-Slepakoff, Alex Escala, Emerson Heuer, Aubrey Schreiner, Anna Price, Lexi Worden, Braden Johnston, Sam Wieber, Liv Fosselius, Elaina Cassidy, Isabella Menges, Katharine Gentry, Molly Windemuller, and Ben Holcomb.

Congratulations to all of our artists!

Just a quick check-in to keep you updated on the Art Program at Red Rocks.
-We have finalized the Original Works Fundraiser and I am, once again, reminded of our giving and supportive community!  Thank you to all who participated.
-Deconstruction Construction is over for this school year after today's meeting.  Thank you to all the creative kids who joined and to the parents who helped.  This club is truly one of the best parts of my job!  Look for this art club to be held again next year!
-The District Elementary Art Show is coming!  I will send home letters this Friday to our featured artists and showcase them in upcoming newsletters.

Thanks for your time... stay warm!

UPDATED!  Exciting times in art!

This year our students are showing artwork at the Columbine Library again!  Plus, we will be the first school to show artwork in the newly remodeled space!  I love this show, as it is an opportunity for so many of our students to share their work with the community.  It is also on display during the holidays, which I schedule on purpose so that you and your family (even visiting family!) can stop by and enjoy the display at your leisure.

Dear Red Rocks Families,
It is time to order your Original Works products!  Please look for a personalized letter that will be coming home with your child.  In this letter you will find information on ordering along with a small reproduction of your child's artwork.  Keep in mind that in order to ensure a product delivery before Winter Break, you must order by November 17th, 2017!

Please keep in mind that this fundraiser helps the art department at Red Rocks purchase special supplies. Last year we raised enough money to purchase a special clay machine that allows me to recycle old clay and turn it back into usable clay.  So, this school year, most classes will get to create two clay projects instead of just one!

I want to thank you in advance for supporting your art program at Red Rocks!

Yours, Mrs. Rose

Dear Red Rocks Families,
Your young artists have been hard at work creating artwork for our annual Original Works Fundraiser!  I cannot wait for you to see the final products!

Dear Red Rocks Families,
I have missed you sooooooo much!  Even though I only saw a few of you over the summer, I hope ALL of you and your families had fun making memories in the sun!  Over the summer, we (Mr. Rose, Phoenix, and I) relaxed in Coronado Island, California; had a blast at Water World; played cards at Union Station; and saw a bear while we were camping in Rocky Mountain National Park!

I am pumped about teaching art this year!  In addition to thoughtful and engaging projects, I will be adding in art layered centers!  Look forward to exploring art at your pace and based on your interests!

I can't wait to see you guys at Meet and Greet!

Artfully Yours, Mrs. Rose
