School Profile


Pomona High School's students succeed in a rigorous curriculum, designed to prepare them for their choices after graduation. Students in the class of 2016 were awarded over $2.8 million dollars in college scholarships, and the Class of 2016 had a Quest Bridge Scholar and a Daniels Scholar. Pomona High School offers extensive Honors and Advanced Placement courses, plus dual enrollment classes in conjunction with Colorado Christian University. Our teachers are committed to helping all Panther students to be the best they can be. We support student learning through Advisement, Panther Time, Study Hall, and Summer Seminar. Pomona students are currently attending the following colleges and universities, among others: CU-Boulder, CU-Denver, University of Northern Colorado, CU-Colorado Springs, Regis University, Colorado State University, University of Denver, University of Wyoming, Belmont University, Pacific Lutheran University, Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, Front Range Community College, Fort Lewis College, Miami University, University of Houston, University of Louisville.

The Arts

Pomona High School's Arts and Humanities program (PAH) is a one-of-a-kind program in Jeffco, which provides students the opportunity to pursue their high school education through a choice of an artistic focus, such as visual or performing arts. Pomona students are consistently named all-state in choir and all-state in band and orchestra. In 2014, Pomona’s Catwalk Theatre Company’s production of Damn Yankees was recognized for excellence by the Bobby G Awards and the lead actress was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Pomona students in the visual arts have had their work showcased at the Jeffco Art Shows, and in 2014, one Pomona student had his work showcased at the Denver Art Museum.


Pomona High School is coming off a unbelievable 2015-16 school year winning three state championships (Gymnastics, Wrestling and Boys' Track) adding to past successes on 1988 Football; 2000, 2001 back-to-back Wrestling Championships; Baseball in 2003; and, another Wrestling championship in 2013, raising our school total to eight. Our teams have finished as state runners-up 25 times in girls and boys sports, most recent in football and softball in 2015-16 school year. Student-Athletes at Pomona compete successfully in Class 5A, the largest classification in the state of Colorado. Panther student-athletes are held to a high standard of conduct and achievement in the classroom. We teach our athletes the importance of teamwork, camaraderie, and being a part of something bigger than themselves. 


Pomona is located in the city of Arvada, a growing northwest Denver suburb dedicated to education, technology, the arts, and recreation. The city is home to more than 103,000 citizens. Pomona High School is a public high school, grades 9-12, with a student enrollment of approximately 1,500 students. Pomona High School was established in 1973. From our local businesses to the ample open space surrounding our school, the Pomona Community is simply fantastic.
