Welcome Back!!!

We hope you had a great summer!  Things are buzzing in the Pomona Choir Department as we kick of the 2016-17 school year.  The Choir/Theatre picnic started us off in grand style on Saturday, August 13.  All who attended had a great time!
We'd like to welcome Molly Brennan to the Pomona Choir Department as one of our staff accompanists.  We are thrilled she will be with us this year. We are saddened to say goodbye to Lu Mayfield, our previous accompanist.  Lu did an amazing job here at Pomona and we will miss her terribly.  Good luck, Lu!  We are also thrilled to have Mr. Clark join us again this year.  He will be teaching Soundsations.  

We hope you will join us for Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 23rd at 6pm at PHS.  If you're student is in PAH, the PAH Back to School Night begins at 5:30 in the library.  See you there.

We also hope all our freshmen/new student parents will join us for the freshmen/new student parent meeting on Wednesday, September 7, at 6:30pm, in the choir room at PHS.  It will be followed by the Choral Booster meeting at 7pm.  Come find out how you can get involved!  Hope to see you there!

April is a busy time in the choir department!  From CHSAA large group to Chorale's partnership concert with the Alpine Chorale to 2016-17 auditions, things are hopping!  Please check the calendar for the latest information and as always, email me if you have questions! 

Spring 2016 Choir Schedule

Fall Concert Schedule Released

The Fall Semester 2015 concert schedule has been published.  Your student should bring you a copy in the next two days.  You can also click HERE to get that document.  Please read it over carefully as not all choirs participate in all events.  Also, please check the calendar for any updates to the schedule as some things may be added as the semester progresses.  We can't wait to share beautiful music with you!

Freshmen Parent Meeting and Booster Meeting 9/2

The Freshmen Parent meeting is this Wednesday, September 2 at 6:30 pm in the Choir Room.  Come find our what Pomona Choirs are all about, get your questions answered and meet other freshmen parents.  
Our first Choral Boosters Meeting is also Wednesday, September 2 at 7pm in the Choir Room.  All Choir families are invited to attend and see what is on tap for the 2015-16 school year. See you there!!!

Summer Harmony Camp!!

Registration for the 2015 Summer Harmony Camp at the Estes Park YMCA is open!  Click here to go to their homepage for more information!  I would love to see some students from Pomona attend and learn about barbershop singing!  You can also see me for more details!

April Announcements

  • Choral Boosters will meet on April 1, at 7pm in the Choir Room.  Topics of discussion will include the Pops Concert, officers for next year and much more.
  • Auditions for next year will begin on Thursday, April 2.  There is a Sign-up Genius on the main Choir Page.  Students will need to schedule their audition through this.
  • Sounds will perform with Improv #4203 on April 16th at 7pm in the Catwalk Theatre.
  • Performing Arts is headed to LA April 23-26!  There will be a mandatory meeting on April 14, at 7pm in the Auditorium.
  • Sounds is participating in the Arvada Police Department's fundraiser for Special Olympics on April 29th, at 7pm at Arvada HS.  We are competing with other Arvada high schools to raise the most money for Special Olympis.  More info to follow.
  • Chorale, Vocalise, Encore and Sounds are headed to Music in the Parks on Saturday, May 9.  Look for the info packet and permission form from your student in the next few days.

Concert Letters home 10-8

Concert Letters are going home in all choirs this week.  Please check with your student.  If they lose it, you can access it on their choir's page under Class Documents.  The link is at the bottom of the page!  I'm looking forward to all the amazing performances starting soon!

Class Policies and Procedures

A document entitled "Class Policies and Procedures" will be sent home this Monday and Tuesday through all choirs.  Please review it with your student and complete the form (linked on the home page) by Tuesday, September 30th.  This will count as a worksheet grade for your student.  Please email Mrs. Mills with any questions regarding any policies and procedures.

Choral Boosters Meeting
