7th/8th grade Choir: Canon City Festival

This Thursday, May 3rd, the 7/8 choir will be driving to Canon City to perform at the Canon City Blossom Festival. Originally, I asked kiddos to arrive by 7:30 but after consulting the bus barn, we need to leave by 7:30 so students need to arrive at school Thursday morning at 7:00 am. Permission slips are past due so please turn them in ASAP.

End of year Falcon Bluffs Band, Orchestra, Choir Festival:

As with every other concert, this evening is a required performance. These kiddos have worked so hard to prepare for this final hoo-rah. Please plan on staying for the entire event so every group receives the support and encouragement they deserve.

In addition, 8th grade will be recognized for their efforts and contributions while here at Falcon. Kiddos who received superior and excellent ratings at solo and ensemble will receive their awards as well.

Monday, May 7th @ 6:00

Student Call time: 5:30

Falcon Bluffs Gym

Plan for a two hour event with an intermission.

6th grade practice charts:

Quarter four has brought some change to the 6th grade band and orchestra classes. We have spent the year discussing practice strategies to ensure we are learning and growing as individuals. Now, we are implementing a goal setting/ practice chart. Students turn them in on Mondays and a parent signature is required. As the saying goes, “it takes a village” and together we can encourage these magnificent kiddos to become magnificent musicians.

As always, if you have any questions about dates or out of class activities please visit my website. If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me.
